Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Features Movement Similar to Black Ops 3

After the trailer leaked ahead of the reveal for the Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, game publisher Activision went on to say that the title’s multiplayer would provide fans with an “evolution of Call of Duty‘s movement system,” but failed to give specific details as to what it meant. Now, however, an online listing for the release on the retailer GameStop’s website describes that the forthcoming game features a return of the “popular chain-based movement system” introduced with Black Ops 3‘s free run style of play.

Although neither Activision nor the folks over at Infinity Ward have confirmed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s movements as being exactly like Black Ops 3‘s system, the developer did reveal on Twitter that players familiar with the latter game ought to be comfortable with the controls. As seen in the tweet below, the studio attempts to assuage the fears of a Call of Duty fan account on the social media platform while referencing the matter.

Taking all of this into consideration, one can now presume that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will have double-jumps, wall-running, knee-slides, and more Black Ops 3 movements, mainly due to Infinity Ward saying that it would be their “take” on the system. As a matter of fact, with the upcoming game being set in outer space and with multiplayer maps being on other planets other than Earth, it wouldn’t be too surprising if gravity-defying physics and abilities would also be a part of the final product.

With some fans speculating that Infinite Warfare has the potential to bring back life to the franchisedue to some drastic changes to the series’ formula, the developers at Infinity Ward will need to be careful not to totally emulate features from past games. This especially applies to using components found in Black Ops 3, because with both titles sharing futuristic elements, it could end up making the studio’s ideas come off as bland and unoriginal.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Potential

Of course, with everything we know thus far about Infinite Warfare not including how players will actually be able to handle their characters, we will have to simply wait until previews for the game are available. With that in mind, once Infinite Warfare‘s multiplayer beta goes live, most fans should get a better idea of what kind of gameplay Infinity Ward’s latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise holds.
